RETRIEVERS

Brittany Stubbs
I am the breeder behind Oro Valley Golden Retrievers.
My passion is raising exceptional, well-bred AKC Golden Retrievers for service programs, therapy work, and loving family homes. Each puppy is raised in my personal home, where they receive individual attention, early socialization, and endless love from the very beginning.
I take great pride in the purpose and care behind every puppy I raise and am dedicated to helping each one reach their full potential.
I look forward to getting to know you and your family as we find the perfect addition to your home. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions about my program.
ABOUT OUR BREEDING PROGRAM
To provide our puppies the best possible start in life, we begin ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation), ESI (Early Scent Introduction), and structured desensitization training at just three days old.
These proven techniques support healthy neurological development, enhance adaptability and build confident temperaments, creating a foundation for success when transitioning into their future homes and training programs.
To help place our puppies in the best homes and training programs,
we use the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test.
WHY IS NEUROLOGICAL STIMULATION IMPORTANT?
Many of our puppies will work with trainers to prepare them for their life's purpose of being a service animal. We put each of our puppies through stimulation techniques to help equip them for the next stages of their lives.
Early Neurological Stimulation
ENS
A process that introduces a variety of mild stimulations to very young puppies in a controlled way. This helps to encourage the neurological system which improves the growth and development of the puppy's immune system, cardiovascular system, and stress tolerance.
Benefits can include:
-
Stronger adrenal glands
-
Higher stress tolerance
-
Greater resistance to disease
-
Stronger heart beats
-
Improved cardiovascular performance
Early Scent Introduction
ESI
A training program for puppies designed to enhance their ability to identify and react to specific scents. Each day, we introduce a strong scent to the puppy. This Introduction helps puppies with their nose awareness and confidence. The benefits of early scent introduction can help produce puppies with superior scent recognition, which is essential in companion therapy and service training dogs.
Desensitization
SENSORY TRAINING
Desensitization is a technique of exposing each puppy to a stimulus that would normally cause an undesirable reaction. We begin at an extremely low level so that there is no response. As the puppy becomes less reactive, they are desensitized through exposure to gradually more intense levels of the stimulus. The benefits of desensitization training for puppies can help lower the risk of your puppy experiencing a fearful situation later in life and reacting in a negative manner.

PUPPY SELECTION
Choosing your puppy is a truly special and memorable experience. We thoughtfully wait until each puppy begins to show their unique personality before making this important decision. When our puppies reach 6–7 weeks of age, we invite your family to our home for a private scheduled appointment. You’ll have all the time you need to connect, bond, and discover which puppy feels like the perfect match for your heart.

To ensure the highest level of safety and comfort for our puppies, we partner with a trusted mobile veterinarian who conducts in-home wellness visits.
At 7 weeks of age, each litter receives a health examination, age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipping. Exam is completed in the familiar and stress-free environment of our home. Every family will receive a detailed puppy record book containing veterinary notes, vaccination certificates, and microchip information for easy reference.
Each puppy also goes home with 30 days of complimentary medical insurance coverage for your peace of mind.
